Heat data: Verified · Wikipedia

The red habanero is a lantern-shaped chinense pepper that matures to a vivid red-orange and is one of the most aromatic hot peppers available, with a characteristic floral, citrusy scent. It originated in the Amazon basin and was spread through the Caribbean — including Cuba, for which Havana (La Habana) gives it its name — eventually finding its largest commercial production in Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. Its distinctive fruity heat makes it a cornerstone of Caribbean hot sauces and Jamaican jerk seasonings.
