Heat data: Verified · PepperScale
The Komodo Dragon pepper was bred by British grower Salvatore Genovese and introduced in 2015 as the first superhot pepper sold in a major UK supermarket chain (Tesco). It is notable for a deceptive flavor experience: the pods initially deliver a burst of sweet, fruity taste with berry and citrus notes before a wave of intense, lingering heat arrives after roughly ten seconds. The pepper is predominantly sold and used for extreme hot sauces and culinary novelty.
