The 7 Pot is a family of superhot chilies from Trinidad, named for the traditional claim that a single pod can spice seven pots of stew. The pods are roughly habanero-shaped with rough, pimpled, ribbed skin and ripen from green to red (with variants including yellow and chocolate brown); behind extreme heat sits a distinctly fruity, nutty flavor reminiscent of other Caribbean chinense peppers. Several strains exist — including the 7 Pot Jonah, 7 Pot Douglah, and 7 Pot Primo — each with somewhat different pod shape and color.
